How to use Property Set and Match Properties to solids for retaining wall in Naviate Civil 3D

This post is part 3/3 in a series on retaining wall.

When the solids were created a property set called NV-Corridor was applied. This property set is automatically populated with data from the corridor and geometry data for the solid. We can use this information, in particular the Height of each solid, to apply the retailer's information.

First, we need a property set that is specific to the retailer we are going to use. To manage property sets, bring up the Property Palette found in Naviate Properties panel in ribbon.

From here you can select to create a property set from a csv-file. There are example CSV-files in Naviate Support-folder, in this example we are using a CSV-file containing Bison Retaining walls. The CSV-file contains information such as model name, length, height, foot width and thickness etc.

When you run the command Create Property Set from CSV, it will create the Property Set from the column headings in the CSV-file.

When the property set is created, run Match Properties from CSV.

This command will add information from the CSV-file based on information already set in the NV-Corridor-property set. Under Match Property 1, select Start height, and under Match CSV-column select Height. This means that on solids where these two matches, the command will import the rest of the information and add which properties to match from the property sets.

Now the property set for Bison Retaining wall is applied to the solids.
